History of the TVBA
Tennessee Valley Baptist Association was founded in 1895 from churches in Hiwassee and Rhea Baptist Associations with eleven churches. Of these eleven churches nine survive and continue to be active in the association. The association is affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention and Southern Baptist Convention. Currently twenty-seven churches are members of the association in Hamilton and Rhea Counties. Dr. Michael J. Young Sr. has served as Director of Missions since November 2000.
